Fenn 1875 is proud to share a different kind of achievement, one that goes beyond workplace solutions and reaches into the heart of our community. At Staffordshire County Councils Supporting Care Leavers into Employment Awards, Fenns received a Silver Quality Mark, recognising our commitment to helping young people transition from care into employment.

The event celebrated organisations across Staffordshire who are making a real difference for care leavers by creating pathways into work, skills development and opportunity. From local employers and training providers to community groups and social enterprises, the awards highlighted a shared ambition to ensure young care leavers have the confidence, support and practical tools they need.

Our Commitment to Care Leavers

As part of this ongoing commitment, Fenns has signed the Care Leavers Covenant, a national initiative that encourages organisations to offer additional support to young people transitioning out of care. Signing the covenant reflects our long-term intention to play an active role in improving employment outcomes and building confidence in those taking their first steps into the world of work.

We are currently working closely with local councils to create opportunities that are genuinely helpful, whether that involves work experience, interview practice, constructive feedback, or exploring future training and apprenticeship pathways. While some initiatives are still in progress, the foundations are firmly in place, and we are focused on growing our involvement in the months and years ahead.

The awards evening at Drayton Manor showcased the incredible work being carried out across the region. Fifteen winners were recognised across categories. Each organisation is contributing in its own way to creating a more inclusive and supportive employment landscape for care leavers.

To be counted among businesses taking active steps to make a difference is something we value deeply. The recognition reinforces our belief that employers of all sizes can play a vital role in shaping brighter futures.

Looking Ahead

Fenns remains committed to expanding the ways we support care leavers, ensuring every young person we work with feels welcomed, encouraged and supported on their journey into employment. We encourage other employers to explore the Care Leavers Covenant and discover how even small commitments can create meaningful impact.

Together, we can help build a future where care-experienced young people have every opportunity to succeed.
